What a fantastic last gig-jam session at the Port of Edmonds at Sea Jazz on Wedn 8-29-2012. We had 22 musicians from the 36 person crew which was great. We had our own master leader Clinician Steve Treseler playing with us. Thanks to the EWHS Avenue B host band for lugging the gear and just being the host band. Thanks to Jack Roben for being the Gig-Jam Master organizer working hard to get everybody in on playing different tunes. Thanks to all the Jazz Colony Members for sticking with it all summer, working hard and making the changes to improve your skills as a Jazz musician. Overall, you will all be better individual musicians and it will help the school program overall as well.
Now that many of you know how to jam, solo and play a jam session, perhaps you all might branch out and try to start up or join in a new forming small ensemble combo/group?
If you are looking to do more jamming, please let me know, as the Seattle Teen Music folks and others area always looking to have more Jam Sessions for motivated High School kids.
Here are some cool photos of the Jazz Colony......
Have a great year at EWHS!
